The primary function of the Secure-i Smart Setup Tool is to discover, register, and connect cameras to the Secure-i service and a user's account. Once inside the Partner Portal, click on the Smart Setup Tool button on the Partner Menu to launch the tool. As stated earlier, it’s important that you have Java installed on your computer in order for this camera registration process to work.
Please use Internet Explorer or Safari to continue using the Smart Setup Tool, as these browsers still support Java.
With the newest versions of Java you may need to follow this guide to whitelist it in your browser to be able to run: Whitelisting The Partner Portal For Use With Java
When you get to the Smart Setup Tool, you will see a pop up screen that asks, “Do you want to run this application?” Click on accept the risk, than click on Run
Once you click Run, you are ready to find the devices on the network.
Select the owner of the registering devices from the drop down box. Select the username of your customer that was added during New Customer Account Creation.
Click on “Start discovering devices on your network by clicking on the link”. You will see the tool search the local network for the cameras and NAS that you have connected.
When the tool has completed its search, you will see the results at the bottom on the screen under Discovered Devices. Look at the first camera and you will notice that the camera model and serial number have been discovered for you.
Register The Cameras
Now you are ready to complete the camera registration:
Click Select and the camera section will turn yellow. This indicates the camera is ready to be registered. You want to do this for each camera, or check Select All if you wish to register all cameras.
After all of your cameras have been selected and each is highlighted in yellow, Click Register All Selected
After a few moments the devices are now registered to the user and connected to Secure-i. You can now log into the User portal to configure the cameras or click Manage Customers on the Partner Menu, select the User and verify that the devices have registered and successfully connected.
Please note that as soon as a camera makes a connection to our server the password for the "root" account will automatically be scrambled for security.
