There are several reasons a reseller might want to directly access the camera including auto focus on specific camera models, or firmware upgrades or simply to access the camera during installation. To access the root account on an AXIS AVHS camera you must be on the same local network as the camera.
Please note that modifications to settings such as motion detection WILL directly impact functionality with the Secure-i Service. This area should only be accessed by experienced users.
Secure-i interface method (applies to version 3.3):
- Log into the user account associated with the camera through your designated company portal
- Browse to the Settings page
- Select the desired camera from the device list
- Click the "Access device" link found at the bottom right of the page
- You should now be logged into the root account of the camera
Manual method (applies to all versions):
- If you know the camera password skip to Step 2, if you do not please follow the steps below:
- Log into the user account associated with the camera through your designated company portal
- Browse to the Settings page
- Select the desired camera from the device list
- Take note of the password displayed when you click the Show Credentials link (this password can change periodically)
- Determine local IP address of the camera
- Open a web browser and proceed to - http://your camera ip/
- Log into the camera using the user name "root" and the password found in step 1
- You should now be logged into the root account of the camera
