Once a subscription is created by a partner the camera must be set up to record based on motion detection, continuous schedule or alarm input. This article describes the steps necessary to configure a camera for continuous scheduled and motion based recording.
- Login to the customer portal using the account credentials
- Click on "Recording Setup" at the top left of the screen
- Here you will see a list of devices currently connected to the account and the default scheduled "Always"
- From this page please select a device in the list, in this case Demo Camera 1. This will open the "Recording Rules" page for that device
- In the top right please click the
button, which will open the menu to add a new recording rule
- In this menu there are 3 steps, please follow the options below based on whether you are using Scheduled Recording or Motion recording
- Scheduled Recording
- Type - select Scheduled Recording
- Schedule - click Always
- Actions - click Add next to record
- Location - select Cloud, SD, or Network Share
- Quality - select "Cloud Recording & Multi-View" if recording to the cloud or "Local Recording" if recording to a SD card or Network Share.
- Motion Recording
- Type - select Application
App - VMD3
Event - VMD 3 - Schedule - click Always
- Actions - click Add next to record
- check 'While rule is active'
- Location - select Cloud
- Quality - select "Cloud Recording & Multi-View"
- After adding the Cloud recording now we can repeat Steps 5 and 6 to add any additional types of recordings we like, such as recording to the SD card or Network Share
- After adding any additional recordings rules desired then please repeat Steps 3-7 for any additional devices on your account.
