Axis Communications notified Alarm.com/Secure-i that they are planning to discontinue the AVHS (Axis Video Hosting Service) platform on December 31, 2021. The Secure-i service is hosted on the AVHS platform and cannot be maintained without Axis’ support. Because of this, we are forced to discontinue Secure-i/our services on the same day that Axis shuts down the AVHS platform.
Therefore, the Secure-i service offering will be discontinued on December 31, 2021.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can new Secure-i accounts still be activated?
New Secure-i accounts can be activated until January 31, 2021. Starting February 1, no new Secure-i accounts can be activated.
What happens to my customer’s Axis cameras after December 31, 2021?
Secure-i will send a command to factory default all cameras. Existing Secure-i customers will be able to use their Axis cameras on any number of compatible recording solutions once the Secure-i services are discontinued.
NOTE: Cameras that are offline at that time will need to be manually factory defaulted in order to be used with another solution.
What compatible recording solution do you recommend?
OpenEye is an Alarm.com subsidiary that provides a cloud-based video management solution that works with Axis cameras. OpenEye will soon be launching their Cloud Connect service which will seamlessly integrate Alarm.com alarm and intrusion accounts with OpenEye video accounts.
